Winning hurdler who ran no sort of race on his chasing debut after 5 months off struggling from early on (subsequently found to have bled) and pulled-up. Now returns from a break with something to prove over a trip that looks beyond his best.

Yet to win over fences and continues to disappoint over them having gone the wrong way over hurdles. Let down by his jumping again last time out and despite the 4lb drop in the handicap needs to get that problem ironed out before he's of interest.

Quickly switched to fences under Rules and had looked the type who would do well over the bigger obstacles. Hasn't really fired in this sphere yet though and wears a tongue-tie for the first time stepped up to 3m; not totally written off.

Fair over fences having won back-to-back handicaps on his first two starts for this yard last May. Looked as though he may be finding his form again before soft ground found him out last time; back on his last winning mark on drying ground.

Tried yet again over 3m last time and patently fails to stay this sort of trip after he once again stopped quickly around 3 out. Features off a mark that he could be successful off if dropped back in trip and a place is the best he can hope for.

Took an age to get off the mark under Rules but finally did so last November when his obvious quirks were kept in check for long enough. Ran well enough last time after a 4 month break but a risky proposition given his attitude.

Headgear always looks to be needed on this one and he's looked awkward in a finish the last twice when finishing placed on each occasion. His overall record is patchy and he has to cope with a longer trip here from out of the handicap.

Verdict

Not that many solid propositions here with nearly the entire field having some sort of question mark hanging over them. MINELLA TWEET looked to be on the way back to form on his penultimate start before soft ground caught him out last time and on a better surface a return to his last winning mark may see him back to winning form. Bach De Clermont ran well last time but he’s stepped up to 3m and there must be a doubt about his stamina. Wandrin Star has always looked the sort to do better over fences and now he’s wearing a tongue-tie for the first he may be able to show more. Leg Lock Luke would have a chance if his quirks don’t hold him back.
