Successful over this trip at Kempton in January and went close at that venue over 1m last month. Usually runs his race, but current handicap mark makes life tough.
Won twice at this venue in the autumn and returned from a short break to finish second of seven at Lingfield. Up 3lb, but likely to make his presence felt.
Landed a 1m½f seller at this track in January and has performed respectably in three starts since. Capable of a bold show off current handicap rating.
Runner-up over 1m at Newcastle on last two outings, suggesting his turn his not far away. Keen in first-time blinkers on latest start and this drop in trip could prove the answer with the headgear retained.
Won a 7f handicap at Newcastle in September, but could not add to that success off higher marks and was given a break. Back down to that winning mark and has claims if straight enough on his return to action.
Back to winning ways at Lingfield in February before finishing fourth of 13 off this 3lb higher mark last month. Can make an impact with leading jockey on board.
Rounded off last season with victories at Kempton and over C&D. Now 7lb higher than for the first of those wins, but that is not insurmountable and he is respected on his seasonal reappearance.
Winner of four races on the AW, but the last of them was over C&D in November, 2016. Handicap mark is falling so he is not without hope, but his stable looks to have better prospects with Fire Diamond.
Regular at this track and won over this trip in February. Not quite the same force since, but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back.
Forecasts
Nick Vedder (5/2), Tuscany (3/1), Sayesse (11/2), Mr Christopher (7/1), Fire Diamond (12/1), Baltic Prince (14/1), Energia Flavio (14/1), Rock Warbler (16/1), Lucky Lodge (28/1)
Top-weight Baltic Prince looks sure to run his usual sound race, but is handicapped to the hilt, so preference is for NICK VEDDER, who ran well in first-time blinkers last time and may appreciate this shorter distance. Fire Diamond looks the best of his stable's two runners, Sayesse is interesting under his leading jockey and Tuscany may well build on last season's improvement. Energia Flavio is another to consider.
