Likes it here (form figures 22413) and his win came in heavy ground, so conditions no problem. No disgrace to finish third in better company last time and will find this much easier. Expect a bold showing from the front.

Nothing if not consistent and a winner here in December, but stamina for this is an unknown and it'll be sorely tested by Big Meadow going from the front. On that, others make a little more appeal.

Looked a chaser going places after his Chepstow win in October but he's totally lost the plot since, pulling up on four of his five subsequent starts. On a good mark if he can refind that form but at present, it simply looks too big a risk to take.

Was considered Gold Cup material back in the day but a tale of slow decline over the years and his reappearance run in March hardly screamed "winner next time". Not hard to give him the elbow on current form.

C&D winner here last October and has won here on heavy ground too, so conditions fine. Not so good lately but has had wind surgery recently, which may indicate the issue, and on a fair mark, can't be ruled out.

Has got the hang of what's required this year and won with anyamount in hand at Hereford in January. Only just touched off after trying to make all at Wincanton last time and he adds spice to an interesting little contest.

Forecasts

Big Meadow (3/1), Lunar Flow (10/3), Clondaw Rigger (7/2), Saint John Henry (5/1), Katenko (6/1), Newberry New (8/1)

Verdict

No hiding place here - expect this to be fast and furious from the outset. Big Meadow is likely to be one of those pushing the pace, along with Saint John Henry and that might suit LUNAR FLOW, who can sit just behind the leaders and pick them off late. A couple of moderate efforts are best forgiven and he can maintain his excellent record at the track. Clondaw Rigger gets plenty of weight from the rest and can take a medal home as well.
