First start for new yard, who tend to start having winners in the spring, and this one showed ability in three point-to-points. Pitched in in quite a competitive little event though, so may find things happening a bit quick today.
Point-to-point winner in January that turned in a perfectly respectable first effort for the yard at Sedgefield, finishing second. Should handle conditions fine and likely to improve. Can be given e/w chances.
Bumper winner at Ayr (soft ground) last year, ran well at Hexham on latest start considering he ran too freely for much of the contest. Needs to settle better here but chances if he does.
Went missing for 2017 and may have had issues, but did much better at Market Rasen last time, sticking on well for third. Should continue to progress and having handled heavy ground in his points, looks one of the main players here.
In good hands but looks one that simply needs more time based on his effort at Doncaster in February. Best watched on that.
Didn't do too badly on first two starts in bumpers but they were on good ground, and he's taken backwards steps since. Hood goes on and has had wind surgery, but surely better options for the winner.
Winner on debut back in 2015 and only seen three more times since then, so may have had issues. Not disgraced in a couple of hurdles this year but needs this for a handicap mark, which is where his best chance of winning may lie.
Learnt a bit from his debut at Exeter when fourth to a very useful sort at Fontwell last time (although well beaten) and should do better again, but is missing the cheekpieces he's worn so far. On that, one to watch today.
Only moderate form shown in five point-to-points and didn't run badly when second in a bumper on Rules debut. First run for new yard today, who are having a quiet time of it, but any money for him needs noting.
Been trying his hand in better races than this, and has already shown that he handles heavy ground fine after two placed efforts lately on it. Was giving plenty of weight away when third latest start and that form puts him in the firing line here.
Forecasts
Secret Legacy (11/8), Hurricane Dylan (3/1), Always On The Ball (8/1), Emerald Chieftan (8/1), Hangard (8/1), Scottshill (11/1), My Liege (33/1), Lookforarainbow (50/1), Powerstown Park (50/1), Larch Hill (50/1)
SECRET LEGACY should find this more to his liking after having to give lumps of weight away to the winner at Haydock last time and with no ground or trip worries, is taken to beat Hangard, who will be a big threat if proving a bit more amenable early in the race. Hurricane Dylan's form entitales him to respect too and at a bigger price, don't rule out a better showing from Powerstown Park either.
