Heavy-ground nursery winner at Down Royal over 7f in September and final outing last term over a mile on soft at Leopardstown suggested he's going to be competitive off this mark. Longer trip on return from the break.
Five-race maiden, no match for Magic Sea in heavy-ground nursery at Down Royal over 7f in September when last spotted. Much better off at weights here and Declaration Of War filly could improve as a three-year-old for respected connections.
Best effort of three last year came in 1m Gowran Park maiden on heavy ground in October when staying on late in the piece to finish a never-nearer third. Potentially have more to offer now sent handicapping on seasonal bow.
Lawman colt who cost 25,000 gns and is related to several useful types. Modest in three spins around Dundalk, will need to improve on handicap/turf bow on a surface that will take some getting. Second runner for trainer in this field.
Posted an improved effort to land mile-handicap on AW at Dundalk last month, rated 5lb higher for turf debut. Trainer has three in the line-up and betting may sort them out.
Teofilo filly back in action with runner-up finish at Cork seven days ago (1m½f, heavy) having easily landed heavy-ground 6f Fairyhouse contest on final start last season. Races from the same mark and obvious chance of reversing placings.
Has been gelded over the winter, makes handicap debut with yard going well and capable of improving on maiden form. Has handled testing ground and gets champion jockey for company.
Went well in 1m Naas maiden in November on soft ground (3L third of 11) but quickly backed out of things on reappearance there recently. May have needed that outing, makes handicap debut and others are more convincing.
Raced clear from Rince Deireanach to score at Cork seven days ago (1m½f, heavy) in a handicap. Had a fitness edge then and was receiving over a stone in weight. Not certain to confirm that form, though respected on the back of it all the same.
Five-race maiden, sent off 100/1 in turf maidens at the Curragh and Tipperary in August and no major threat. Race-fit from AW exertions but has significant improvement to unlock back on this surface.
Well held in three maidens, including near 16L defeat at Cork a week ago on return to action over 1m2f on testing ground. Sent handicapping and Excelebration isn't an obvious improver in waiting.
A long way behind Definite Doyenne and Rince Deireanach at Cork a week ago on first start for Johnny Murtagh / return from a break. Will do very well to overturn form with one/both here.
Windsor Knot filly showing no signs of progress in her three starts to date in maiden company, tough to see her improving enough to take a forward role now sent handicapping.
Forecasts
Art Of America (7/2), Definite Doyenne (7/2), Rince Deireanach (9/2), For Pleasure (8/1), Remmy D (10/1), Magic Sea (12/1), Shes Queen (14/1), Eos (14/1), Tagle (16/1), Mojambo (16/1), Windsor Diamond (20/1), Charmed Pearl (20/1), Wichita Line (20/1)
Definite Doyenne showed a nice turn of foot on testing ground at Cork last week to make a winning handicap debut. The filly should have more to give but the re-opposing RINCE DEIREANACH could be a big threat on these revised terms. Jim Bolger's filly was caught for toe but she was conceding both lumps of weight and race fitness to the winner down in Mallow. She did begin to close late on and should prove all the better for the run. Magic Sea, Eos and Art Of America – who handles the ground – are the most respected rivals.
- Rince Deireanach
- Definite Doyenne
- Art Of America
