Has been gelded during the off-season and represents a yard who had a winner with their first runner of 2018. Failed to progress as a juvenile and may need further.

Costly failure on second start but drifted in the market when opening his account here under this rider. Had less use made of him that day and may have had more in the tank than the margin suggests.

Hood fitted having been too keen on handicap debut. Looks high enough in the weights at present and he may need further.

Trainer has not found his right trip yet and brings him back to a mile here having not quite got home last time. Entitled to come on for that run and a drop in the weights. Yard going great guns at present.

Form of his Wolverhampton fifth does not look as strong now as it it did at the time. Well beaten over further since, but stronger handling employed along with a tongue-tie for handicap debut.

Finished just behind Bond Street Beau at Wolverhampton before finding 7f too sharp last time. Looks the type to win a handicap but assessor has taken few chances here.

Enjoyed a better run when taking advantage of an 8lb pull in the weights to beat Felisa two months ago. Recorded a good time that day but this promises to be much tougher off 6lb higher.

Winner in the Chepstow mud last summer but has failed to progress since. Yet to prove he stays this far and inexperienced rider on board.

First foal of a dam who was an AW winner at this trip. Not disgraced last time in a race that has worked out well and she is weighted to be competitive on that form.

Produced a career best over C&D on penultimate start, but not as good without the hood over further on next run. Needs to settle better and may be more exposed than many of her rivals.

Forecasts

Warsaan (2/1), Vice Marshal (4/1), Verstappen (9/2), Renny's Lady (5/1), Trogon (8/1), Losingmyreligion (8/1), Bond Street Beau (16/1), Harbour Pilot (20/1), Hollywood Dream (20/1), Becky Sharp (33/1), Straight Ash (50/1)

Verdict

Many of these are capable of improvement and the market is best watched in regard to the likes of Becky Sharp, Bond Street Beau and Warsaan. Vice Marshall has a more difficult task than last time, but still makes more appeal than the Marco Botti pair of Verstappen and Losingmyreligion. TROGON comes form a stable enjoying a good run and the handicapper has given him a chance following an encouraging run on his recent comeback.
