Three wins around the turn of the year in handicaps showed that he had ability with two of those wins coming here over a mile. His best efforts have come on Fibresand and he should be considered better than his last run here; steps up 4f in trip.

Hard to know what he achieved off a lowly mark in a weak C&D handicap on his debut on this surface but did manage to better that run on Tapeta last time (1m4f again). Could still have some improvement in him but will need to off an 8lb higher mark.

The only runner making their Fibresand/handicap debut and by a sire with a very modest strike-rate here. Not seen since running below his debut form at Ayr in October over a mile and comes here with questions to answer.

Tried twice here over shorter trips he's looked to handle the surface to a point but there must be a doubt about him over this trip. Failed to stay this far at Lingfield before striking there last time in first-time blinkers over 1m2f (now up 5lb).

Forecasts

Seasearch (11/10), Mr Carbonator (11/4), Dorian Gray (3/1), Sincerely Resdev (10/1)

Verdict

Just a quartet go to post with Mr Carbonator whose form reads well here stepped up markedly in trip having only run at up to a mile so far and he may be vulnerable. His stablemate Sincerely Resdev makes his Fibresand/handicap debut facing a similar rise in trip while Dorian Gray appeared to struggle over 1m4f when tried at the distance before. The blinkers that he wore last time are retained as he bids to follow-up his win going back up in trip but the whole field looks vulnerable to C&D winner SEASEARCH. He may not have beaten much so far but he looks to be on the up and staying trips look to suit and his proven stamina could the deciding factor.
