Useful hurdler, beaten a head over C&D in October off this mark and has gone close on more than one occasion to opening account over fences. Should be involved.

Nothing standout in efforts in bumpers or novice/maiden hurdles with previous handlers Off since June, undergone a wind operation and joined Sam Thomas in between times, sports a tongue tie for first start over fences.

Has run some pleasing races in handicap hurdles without winning. First time tackling fences now, given a chance off this opening mark if taking to this discipline.

11/4
Fair hurdler, beaten 1L in Fontwell handicap chase in February (2m1½f, soft), his first completion in four attempts over fences. Can be in the mix here with repeat effort.

Lickpenny Larryt23
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-4| J: R T Dunne| T: T R Gretton| OR:  82| BF
3/1
Maiden after 13 starts (six over fences), though there have been some positives of late. Seemed destined for a leading role at Leicester (2m4f, heavy) last time only for jumping error to cost him all hope four out. Should have a race in him.

Forecasts

Tactical Manoeuvre (11/4), Lickpenny Larry (3/1), Crafty Roberto (3/1), Cashanova (7/2), Amalfi Doug (8/1)

Verdict

Tactical Manoeuvre posted his best effort over fences last time and will be a threat with a repeat showing, but he isn't one to trust entirely. Crafty Roberto went close over C&D earlier in the season and is capable of doing so again while Cashanova has been given a chance by the assessor on his switch to chasing. LICKPENNY LARRY was moving ominously at Leicester last time only to slither on landing four out and forfeit his chance. He might get compensation here in what isn't the strongest contest of its type.
  1. Lickpenny Larry
  2. Tactical Manoeuvre
  3. Crafty Roberto
