Rated 57 on the Flat and was far too keen on hurdles debut at Hexham (2m, heavy) in November. Since had a win op and looks one to watch this time.

Showed a bit of promise in a couple of hurdles in Ireland and ran to a similar level on British/stable debut at Hereford (2m, soft) in January, when a 13L fourth. Should be capable of improvement and enters calculations.

Pennington77

150/1
Rated 52 on the Flat, where he races at 1m-1m2f. 200-1 and tailed off/pulled up on hurdles debut at Catterick. Watching brief advised on his return to the racecourse.

Significantly better than most of these on the level, where he is rated 77. Raced keenly on hurdles debut at Huntingdon (2m, soft) earlier in the month but that effort suggested that he has a future over timber. Short-listed.
Another reasonable Flat performer, though he has yet to show commensurate ability in two starts over hurdles. Scope for more in this sphere, but looks a work in progress and will probably find a couple too good.

Not shown much so far in two runs at Sedgefield this month, pulling up (2m4f) on debut and being beaten 61L (2m1f) last time. Very much one for a watching brief again today.

Forecasts

Pirate Look (4/5), Cosy Club (5/4), Specialist (20/1), L'attendue (50/1), Aladdin Sane (66/1), Pennington (150/1)

Verdict

Little depth to this and Dan Skelton looks to have found a decent opportunity for COSY CLUB to break his duck. He ran well enough on his stable debut in January and with a bit of time to work with him, the trainer is taken to have improved him, while the tongue strap may also help. Pirate Look could present a danger if he can settle better than last time, with Specialist taken to chase them home.
  1. Cosy Club
  2. Pirate Look
  3. Specialist
