Recorded a slow time when landing a modest maiden point-to-point at Howick last month. Stable had a winer at Hereford on Tuesday.
Caused a 40/1 upset when landing a Ludlow bumper on debut but that form amounts to little. Has had her limitations exposed since but makes hurdling debut at a modest level and with the yard going well.
Has looked pretty moderate so far and new headgear tried. Yard know where they stand with a few of these through Spice Girl.
Bought for £40,000 having been runner-up on her only point-to-point start. Related to a couple of stayers but she looked worth trying over this trip when weakening to finish third here two weeks ago over 2m5f.
Has tackled distances from 2m-3m this season and has mixed hurdling with chasing. Tends to hit a flat spot whatever the trip but she did produce two good C&D efforts here in 2016.
Debuts for new stable having shown very limited ability in bumpers and on the Flat when totally unfancied in the markets.
Placed in a couple of bumpers here in 2016 but has not jumped fluently since going hurdling. Flattered by her latest run but still not without a chance in a race this weak and with her rider good value for his claim.
Runner-up at Lingfield in similar company on testing ground before failing to stay longer trips in two outings since. Has possibilities in a poor race but yard are 153 days without a winner.
Sea Freedom filly out of a dam who ran some fair races in point to points. Dam was herself out of a half-sister to several winners, but mostly over further than this. Last of eight on bumper debut and off the track since June.
Sets the standard with a C&D second to Spice Girl. However, that run and her point-to-point victory were on good ground and her effectiveness is unproven on the predicted soft ground. Rider looked very effective for a 10lb claimer on Saturday.
Runner-up in a decent point-to-point and was going well when falling on hurdling debut here in November. Tailed off on both starts since which may be attributable to soft ground and the current poor form of the stable.
Forecasts
The Crazed Moon (6/5), Phoeniciana (11/4), Schap (8/1), Brushed Up (12/1), Megaboost (12/1), Sunday In The Park (16/1), Lady Vitesse (25/1), Bean Liath (28/1), Youknowell (50/1), Sunset Skye (50/1), Run For Eva (66/1)
Any improvement in underfoot conditions would reflect better on the prospects of The Crazed Moon and Youknowell who have shown enough to suggest they can win this. Sunday In The Park and Schap don't have the form in the book, but act on the ground and could give a good account. Brushed Up represents a stable who have just started to get winners following a quiet spell and Megaboost looked ready for a switch to this trip having attempted to make all here last time. PHOENICIANA has had her limitations exposed over a variety of trips. However, we do know she likes the track and handles the ground. Her rider is good value for their claim and this is as good an opportunity as she is likely to get
- Phoeniciana
- Megaboost
- Schap
