Early casualty last time, had previously found the classy Waterlord too good at Haydock although wasn't disgraced. Steps up in trip today, still unexposed and handles most ground, so has plenty of plus points if bouncing back.

The money for him spoke volumes when winning here with plenty in hand last time, that form solid as second a winner since so despite a 10lb rise in the weights, may well have more to offer. Conditions clearly no issue and a big player again.

Better than this mark at his peak but his tale of woe continued at Taunton on his latest start, well beaten at a fairly early stage and hard to see how he's going to turn things around today. Not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.

Was in good form when last seen but that's over a year ago now. Handicapper has given him a chance if fit though, and he has won after a (much shorter) break before, so not totally discounted. Trip and likely ground fine.

Better effort when not beaten far at Towcester latest but that was over much shorter and there's no indication that this big step up in trip will suit. Others preferred.

Point-to-point winner that had little chance against an odds-on favourite at the weights last time but this step into handicap company offers him a better chance, and conditions should be ideal. One of the more interesting ones.

Trip and likely ground fine but latest couple of starts rather suggest he's gone off the boil at present. Hard to entertain him in current frame of mind.

Point-to-point winner, showed a bit more when sticking to the task to finish within shouting distance of Waterlord at Bangor and this step up in trip will help. Lightly raced and may improve, so watch the market for a clue.

Well placed to win a couple this winter and handicapper has been sensible with a 4lb rise for latest win. This does look a bit tougher though, so despite trip and ground both being fine, may need to find a bit more to score again.

Hasn't been seen much in recent years but much better at Huntingdon on latest start, staying on late after getting outpaced mid-race. Needs more here but that's not impossible, and has e/w chances.

Verdict

The market told you that NOW MCGINTY was expected to run better here last time out and in truth he won with plenty in hand. With the form of that race having received a timely boost he can go in again before the handicapper starts to catch up with him. Sergeant Brody is a likely improver now stepping up in trip and any support for him could be significant, and similar comments apply to Kings Watch. Georgian Firebird is worth a look for each-way players.
