Fair handicap hurdler who was pulled up when last seen at Southwell almost a year ago. Likely to need this run, but hails from a shrewd stable so any market support would be interesting.
Won over C&D in April, last year, but has drawn a blank since. However, he has produced a couple of good efforts in defeat recently and is capable of a bold show off this handicap mark.
Point-to-point winner who has shown little in three starts in maiden/novice hurdles. Needs to find much more now he is handicapping.
One win in 12 attempts over hurdles and is 7lb lower than when last seen in September, 2016. Will probably needs this run to put her straight, but is worth a look in the betting.
Finished third in two novice hurdles last year, but subsequent efforts have been disappointing, including when pulled up at Hereford last time. Difficult to recommend.
Placed only once in 11 races over hurdles, but did shape better over C&D last time. Runs off the same mark and needs to take a step forward.
Defied odds of 33-1 to win a Hereford handicap in December, 2016, but has struggled since, including over C&D on last two starts. Needs to find plenty off falling handicap rating.
Improved form since joining current yard and last two placed efforts suggest he can make his presence felt. Blinkers he wore for the first time on latest outing are left off.
Returned to form, although well beaten, when second over C&D earlier this month in a first-time tongue tie which is retained. Has an each-way shout if in the same mood.
Forecasts
Prince Mahler (10/3), Brother Norphin (7/2), Admiral Blake (5/1), Deckers Delight (6/1), Moving In Style (13/2), River Dun (12/1), Generous Helpings (12/1), Hoola Hula (14/1), Tir Dubh (20/1)
Any money for top-weight Generous Helpings would be interesting, while Prince Mahler should make his presence felt following a couple of good displays. Slight preference, though, is for BROTHER NORPHIN, who has improved since joining his current stable and can register a deserved success. Admiral Blake and River Dun are not out of it, while Tir Dubh is well handicapped if straight enough after her long lay-off.
- Brother Norphin
- Prince Mahler
- Admiral Blake
