Picked up a couple of races when with Dan Skelton but has shown very little for his current yard and looked totally out of sorts last time (attitude still looks suspect). Mark has dropped a further 3lb but yet to win a handicap.

Finally capitalised on a falling mark on his first run for this yard (well backed) when taking a Catterick handicap without his usual headgear. Strong in the betting again when failing to build on that run last time and not the most fluent jumper.

Red Ochre42
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-9| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: C Grant| OR:  101

Has shown some promise in handicaps with this mark looking a competitive one but could be better given a stiffer test of stamina. Below form last time over 2m and stays at the same trip now; place chance if he runs to his best.

Suffered from a rather stop start winter although there have been sign of promise on occasions particularly at Leicester (penultimate outing). Didn't quite build on that run last time but drops in grade now and not dismissed totally given his mark.

Looked to need the run last time (jumpers bumper) after some wind surgery and although she's not really progressed over hurdles going handicapping may bring some improvement. May need a little more of this mark though but watch the market.

Given a break after a summer campaign he's shown very little on three starts since returning. Continues to drop in the handicap though so dangerous to totally write off now he's on some better ground.

Aza Run61
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-2| J: Mr Aiden Blakemore(7)| T: S A Harris| OR:  94

Back from a break when showing some improved form at Uttoxeter to win over 2m but has looked to struggle to cope with slightly higher marks since. His overall profile is a little unreliable though and on balance is one to leave alone.

The Blue Bomber12
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Fergus Gregory(7)| T: C Fryer| OR:  90

Came across a vastly improved winner last time when finishing runner-up at Huntingdon but that was still his best performance of the season. Able to run off the same mark here and a repeat of that effort would see him go close.

Hes Our Robinh46
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-11| J: R T Dunne| T: M Mullineaux| OR:  89

Still yet to win a race and although he fared a little better than of late last time out off a 3lb higher mark he's still not done enough to make him of interest.

Zoltan Vargah131
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: Dave Crosse| T: M R Channon| OR:  95

May well have shown some better form in bumpers than he has over hurdles but does have a hood on now for the first time on his handicap debut. Ought to be capable of better than he's shown so far off this mark.

Forecasts

Hear The Chimes (7/2), Steel City (7/2), The Blue Bomber (5/1), Ortenzia (6/1), Red Ochre (13/2), Zoltan Varga (9/1), Spader (20/1), Royal Beekeeper (22/1), Aza Run (25/1), Hes Our Robin (33/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong heat but it does feature a couple of runners that have threatened to do better of late with HEAR THE CHIMES given a chance to show that he can finish a race off having run well on his only previous visit to Market Rasen. The Blue Bomber is another who may well be able to build on a good recent start having looked suited by this trip last time out. Steel City blotted his copybook on his last start but a repeat of his debut effort for this yard would put him in the picture while Ortenzia has run respectably over hurdles so far and going into handicaps after a wind operation may well see further progress.
  1. Hear The Chimes
  2. The Blue Bomber
  3. Steel City
