Finished a runner-up in Irish point-to-points and there are plenty of winners in the pedigree including the smart Glencove Marina. Wasn't cheap at £85,000, went close over C&D on Boxing Day and holds strong claims.
A €40,000 Gold Well gelding with useful pedigree, makes plenty appeal on paper though stable has endured a funny season.

There's a few French hurdles winners in the family, produced fair effort on second start in a Kempton bumper last month and may improve again.
Trainer worth noting in this sphere, albeit this Heliostatic gelding doesn't make clear appeal on paper.

Dr Massini gelding is a half-brother to fair hurdler Overawed. This yard has a decent bumper record and he's one worth paying close attention to as such.

Sent off 25/1 for his debut at Stratford (good to soft) last May. Was never involved that day and finished about three furlongs behind the winner. Impossible to fancy on that evidence.

Ran well in a bumper here over 1m6f last time, represents Seven Barrows and this extra yardage should prove to be in his favour. On the shortlist.
Unfancied and didn't play any significant role in a Stratford bumper in May in sole previous outing, likely best watched one again.

Point-to-point winner who could only finish fifth on debut under rules at Taunton last month. Entitled to improve on that effort but will need to.

Son of Getaway who was quite an expensive buy at €60,000 as a foal, didn't show a lot on debut at Doncaster (sent off 25/1) and must improve considerably for that experience.

First run for yard, pedigree screams chaser and likely we won't see the best of him for some time. Yard have a 15% strike rate in bumpers so afforded respect on that alone, but might find others a bit sharper today.
A €30,000 Yeats gelding, he is a half-brother to bumper winner/smart hurdler OK Corral. Has potential on debut.

Nicely bred Medicean gelding out of a Listed-placed Flat mare, she makes appeal on paper but didn't show much in AW jumpers bumper at Lingfield recently. Needs more switched to turf.
Jeremy gelding who fetched €25,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to winning hurdler Feel The Air. Only moderate promise from Kempton debut last month.
Oscar gelding, closely related to smart hurdler/high-class chaser Tranquil Sea. Represents Tizzard team on debut and worth a closer look.

Shirocco gelding makes some appeal on paper, represents decent yard for this maiden outing and betting likely to reveal more in terms of expectations.

Unable to get in a decent blow in two runs so far, latest at Fontwell last month. This is a deeper contest on paper.
Half-sister to five winners two of which were useful on the Flat. Hooded for debut at Towcester (1m5½f) in November and made up some decent late ground. Might have more to say over this trip.

Forecasts

Commodore Barry (9/4), Mill Green (4/1), Cranstal (7/1), Some Day Soon (10/1), Massini Man (10/1), Breaking Waves (12/1), Third Wind (12/1), Serosevsky (16/1), Little Vern (20/1), Goutez Moi (20/1), Helioblu Bareliere (33/1), From The Heart (50/1), Tralee Hills (66/1), Tuppence Coloured (66/1), Elviz (66/1), Sharp Getaway (100/1), Mister Mccoy (100/1), Milk King (200/1)

Verdict

A lively finale, with COMMODORE BARRY expected to come on from a decent effort over C&D on Boxing Day. He made most of the running that day and was worn down late (fourth), with improvement likely he can grab this prize. Mill Green also shaped well at this track on debut over a shorter trip and is respected for the champion trainer. Newcomers Massini Man and Little Vern are worth paying attention to while Tuppence Coloured isn't overlooked at a big price.
  1. Commodore Barry
  2. Mill Green
  3. Little Vern
