Useful horse for Richard Newland a few years ago but has lost his way in point-to-point company in recent seasons. Very well handicapped on his best form and put in one of his better point-to-point efforts last time out.
Ten race maiden and has shown his best form so far in bumper company. Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Limerick(3m, soft) in December and drops in trip on his return from a break.
Eight race maiden but ran well to finish a good third in a 16 runner handicap hurdle at Cork (2m3f, yielding-to-soft) on handicap debut in October. Held there since however but remains of interest on his return from a break.
Winner of two of his three starts at this venue including a handicap hurdle over 2m2f in July 2015. Signs of a possible return to form over fences last time out and wears a tongue tie for the first time on his return to hurdles.
Dead-heated for a bumper at Kilbeggan 11 months ago but struggled in the main since switching to hurdles and form suggests he's likely to find life tough on today's forecast heavy ground.
Successful twice on heavy ground in handicap hurdles including over this trip at Clonmel last month. Disappointing favourite off this 9lb higher mark subsequently but remains a contender today.
Placed twice over hurdles here and also won a beginners chase here in his youth. Best recent effort came when finishing 11L third at Hexham (2m, heavy) in September and he races off a career low mark today.
12 race maiden and finished runner-up in a 2m handicap hurdle at Limerick (heavy) in December. Fair effort on his return from a break at Wexford recently and is an interesting runner today.
Ran well in a good ground bumper at Perth last June but struggled since and hope appears to lie with the switch to handicap company bringing about an improved effort.
Forecasts
Sunset Sadie (10/3), A Place Apart (7/2), Isodon (9/2), Show And Go (5/1), Ri An Rian (5/1), Lambs Lane (12/1), Mighty Whitey (16/1), Drumnagreagh (25/1), Bobowen (33/1)
A PLACE APART put in a decent effort on his return from a break at Wexford recently and with that in mind he can register a first victory in this competitive handicap hurdle. The selection had finished runner-up at Limerick prior to that and is taken to see off Sunset Sadie who has won twice already on heavy ground while Ri An Rian, who hails from a good yard can claim third on his return from a break.
- A Place Apart
- Sunset Sadie
