Appeared to have a bright future earlier in the season with wide-margin wins over C&D and at Haydock. Held in graded company since, though had excuses latest. Strong claims on previous form.
Appreciated the ease in opposition when getting off the mark in a heavy ground 2m maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter last month on his first start since wind surgery. Can improve and gets a handy 7lb from Waterlord.
No match for Ballymoy at Uttoxeter on his hurdling debut, beaten 21L. Had shown promise previously in bumpers and should be wiser for that experience of jumping. Could improve.
Four-race maiden, beaten combined tally of 90L in two starts over hurdles at Market Rasen and Chepstow thus far, down in trip now but facing at least two potentially smart rivals and tough ask.
Mistake at the last when tired on hurdles debut here last month, drops in trip now and capable of improvement, though it should be needed.
Winning point-to-pointer, wasn't beaten far in bumper here in December (5L), but has been poor in both hurdles runs since. Plenty more demanded to get involved in the shake-up.
Modest Flat maiden, hasn't jumped fluently in either hurdles start so far to be winning, including in 16L defat at Ludlow on Thursday. Type to do better in time however.
Forecasts
Waterlord (5/4), Ballymoy (11/8), Neachells Bridge (13/2), Brigadier Bob (16/1), Ofcourseiwill (33/1), Never A Word (66/1), Monthyne (100/1)
Waterlord appeared to be going places earlier in the season when trouncing his opposition here and at Haydock, but he's taken backwards steps in good company since. He was pulled up in the Betfair Hurdle last time and, while this is easier, the burst blood vessels are a concern. In any case, BALLYMOY showed improved form after a wind op when scoring at Uttoxeter last month and the five-year-old arguably has more scope to improve again. He gets the nod for Nigel Twiston-Davies. Brigadier Bob and Never A Word are capable of improving to fight out the minor prizes.
