Showed some good form for this stable last summer, but form has tailed off somewhat on winter ground, and appears to be this yard's second string.
Returns to fences after an unsuccessful spell over timber and fell on last chase start. Hard to fancy in current form. Wears a first-time tongue-tie.
Useful on his day but form has been very poor in nine runs this season bar one respectable effort at Galway when narrowly beaten. Unseated after a bad mistake last time and not one to be confident in in current mood.
Runner-up the last twice (both at Fairyhouse) and down in trip again now. Has won over this short before though (including C&D) and should run another big race.
Has run well on his last few starts over similar trips to this, including when placed at Gowran three starts back. This doesn't look the strongest contest and he can't be ruled out.
Connections probably would have liked to have seen a bit more from him over fences so far, and he has something to find with the best of these.
Finished both in front of and behind Effernock Lad towards the end of 2016, but has now been off over a year and could need the run. Wears a first-time tongue-tie.
Recent Navan scorer who has moved to this top trainer from Francis Flood. That win came over C&D which is another bonus, as is this rider taking over in the saddle.
Consistent sort, particularly in this sort of ground but he's creeping up the handicap without winning and has never won off a mark this high. Others hold stronger claims.
Won over this trip at Fairyhouse two starts back before not running his race at Down Royal last time (held excuses). Up another 4lb but holds claims back down in trip.
Forecasts
Sunsetstorise (1/1), Fairly Legal (4/1), Rosie Alice (8/1), Black Zero (10/1), All The Chimneys (10/1), Flemenstorm (12/1), Effernock Lad (14/1), Shrewdoperator (20/1), Timiyan (25/1), I Knew Well (25/1)
It's interesting to see SUNSETSTORISE has moved to Gordon Elliott at the age of 10, and if building on his C&D victory last time out he could prove tough to beat for this major yard. He has the benefit of Jack Kennedy in the saddle and won with something in hand when last seen. Meanwhile Flemenstorm has finished second on his last two starts and could hit the frame again, along with Effernock Lad.
- Sunsetstorise
- Flemenstorm
- Effernock Lad
