Came to hand early as a juvenile, winning two of her first three. Has little in hand of her current mark and has to prove her stamina.

Coped with the fibresand as his pedigree suggested last time to get the better of a good battle with an exposed rival. Doubtful that is worthy of a 6lb rise in the weights and he needs to show he can handle this faster surface.

Bred to want this trip as a minimum and represents a stable that had a midweek winner. Rider lacks experience and her current mark is not justified based on what she has achieved so far.

Lost out in controversial circumstances last time when his stall opened late. Did well to finish as close as this and it is a relief to connections his mark has been left untouched. Stable are in form and compensation may await.

Well held on both starts for this yard and that is reflected in her adjusted rating. Best effort came on soft ground, so she could land a small race on turf in over the next few weeks.

Cape Cross colt out of a Listed winner who looked too green and keen in his first three starts Makes handicap debut off a low mark and with a good young rider booked, so a market check is advisable.

Iconic Boy (3/1), Illusional (3/1), Harmonica (10/3), Carp Kid (10/3), Holy Tiber (8/1), Polly's Gold (20/1)

Verdict

John Flint was furious after CARP KID was beaten last time following a fault with his starting stall. The trainer rightly felt the episode cost him the race and thankfully the handicapper has not rubbed salt in the wounds by awarding him a higher mark. As a winner without a penalty he needs to take this ordinary event. Illusional is progressing but still has something to prove off his new weight on a different surface, whilst Harmonica's latest effort has been devalued and suggests her current mark is asking too much. Iconic Boy is unexposed and has a nice pedigree, but Polly's Gold may be found wanting and Holy Tiber could find this too far.
