C&D winner in January breaking his maiden tag over 3L ahead of Duke Of Waspington. Beaten last time out over 2m will be more comfortable back at this trip.
Appears to find a couple a little quicker round here of late including last time out over C&D earlier in the month. Genuine but may have to settle for a place again.
C&D winner in December off a 5lb lower mark. Beaten but not disgraced since and capable of having his say once again.
Finished fifth of 10 beaten 7½L on first start since August at the end of a solid summer season for trainer. Improvement on the cards and place claims.
Winner over C&D last time out beating Thomas O'Malley a short head earlier in the month. Specific Gravity and Carried behind him that night and can go well again off a 3lb higher mark.
Winner here in October over 7f but bombed on return last month finishing last of seven when eased coming home distressed. Best watched on return.
Didn't take too well to the trip last time out finishing 26L adrift of the winner but cannot be discounted on his previous three starts at this track over 1m2½f and one to check in the betting.
Winner over C&D in November 2016 off a 9lb lower mark Had a fairly solid Flat campaign last season and is worth a second glance here in this company.
Has recently run n to some improving types notably Winston Wolfe and Uncle Henry and is capable of hitting the frame on handicap debut from this mark.
Modest and disappointing hurdler for Gordon Elliott. Requires a chunk of improvement on stable debut to play a role here.
Nothing of any note in eight AW starts and comes here off the back of a couple of hurdle runs. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.
Forecasts
Uncle Henry (7/4), California Lad (9/2), Commander Won (5/1), Duke Of Waspington (15/2), Carried (8/1), Sharjah (8/1), Jan Van Eyck (12/1), Lucent Dream (20/1), Vincita (50/1), Authorative (50/1), Mistamel (50/1)
Carried likes to get on with things from the front and will possibly lead in the early stages of the contest with Commander Won, California Lad and last time out winner Sharjah chasing in behind. The early pace of the race will be a distinct advantage for the strong-travelling UNCLE HENRY who can add to his C&D win here in January.
- Uncle Henry
- Commander Won
- California Lad
