Dual soft ground winner as a juvenile last season and has been in similar form in handicaps this season despite not winning. Stays further than this, though began to look exposed from 1lb higher last time. May do better in this grade.
Won two novices' hurdles on good to soft in the 2015/16 season and looked decent in the second of those at Doncaster. Things didn't happen for him over fences, but much better effort back over hurdles last time and has claims from the same mark.
Has been well placed to win four of her eight starts, all of which have had good in the going description. Hasn't got to grips with handicapping yet from 3lb higher and may be better over further.
Goes well on soft ground but is without a win since October 2014. Was beaten just 1L from 8lb higher 13-months ago and entitled to need latest run after a break/wind op, so a much better effort today is not ruled out.
Won a Stratford novices' hurdle (2m½f, good to soft) by 20L in September and has bettered that twice since, including on handicap debut at Chepstow from 1lb higher when last seen in October. Returns after wind op and enters calculations.
Has won his last three completed starts. Scored by 10L from a mark of 115 at Huntingdon (soft) last month. An 11lb rise rise took him to the Imperial Cup last time (unseated) and needs improvement to win again from this career-high mark.
Has made the frame in all three hurdles starts, two of them here over C&D in maiden company. Now goes handicapping from a fair mark and no surprise to see him acquit himself well.
Found some improvement to post a career-best and win at Hereford (2m, soft) last time out in a novices' handicap. Front pair were 10L clear there, so 7lb rise does not look frightening and a follow-up success can't be ruled out.
Won a Bangor bumper (heavy) in December and equalled that effort with his best over hurdles so far in a Wincanton novices' event (2m, soft) last month. Initial handicap mark looks stiff enough, but market check advised to measure expectations.
Forecasts
Awake At Midnight (4/1), Flashing Glance (9/2), Night Of Sin (9/2), Birch Hill (11/2), All Is Good (6/1), Whatzdjazz (9/1), Cyrius Moriviere (10/1), Bertimont (12/1), Passam (40/1)
CYRIUS MORIVIERE did not enjoy a happy time over fences, but looked much more at home back over hurdles last time and from the same mark he looks to have a race like this in him. Night Of Sin is very much respected back in this grade, while Bertimont and Passam both merit market checks. Flashing Glance has claims if he is ready after a wind op, while Awake At Midnight and All Is Good are others with claims.
- Cyrius Moriviere
- Night Of Sin
- Awake At Midnight
