Put a series of poor performances behind him when second of nine and second of six in his last two starts with Kayf Thou and Percy Veer behind. Trainer has an excellent recent strike-rate at the course and could hardly be in better form at present.
Won a Cork bumper in testing conditions towards end of last season and has run well in three runs over hurdles this campaign. Conditions to suit but may struggle as far as win purposes are concerned.
Kayf Tar gelding related to Special Tiara, Blaklion and the mare, Labelthou was a 160-rated Grade 2 winning hurdler with Emma Lavelle. Well beaten in a debut to forget earlier this month at Thurles and may need more time and more of a stamina test.
An 81-rated handicapper at best on the Flat for Sylvester Kirk. Well beaten on first two maiden hurdle starts before an improved effort beaten 4¾L last month at Punchestown when finishing third of nine. Looks a tall order.
Gelded son of Brian Boru out of a mare who was successful over both hurdles and fences. Made too many mistakes on maiden hurdle debut at Leopardstown earlier in the month and likely to struggle again.
Winner of a bumper here in December before weakening two out in a Naas maiden hurdle in January when finishing ninth of 15 beaten 59L. Another struggle may ensue.
Forecasts
Catwalk King (5/6), Caltex (6/4), Percy Veer (10/1), Jammy George (20/1), Kayf Thou (50/1), Roccorovermann (100/1)
CALTEX is the one to beat here for a yard who had no fewer than eight Cheltenham winners last week and this gelding was unlucky when touched off last time. Catwalk King is the danger with conditions in his favour while Kayf Thou has an interesting enough pedigree and may prove best of the rest.
