Horse A-Z
Carries a double penalty here after winning twice at Chepstow, the second by 9L under a penalty. Beaten 13L into third in Listed company last time. Although not a strong race, this will still be tough enough conceding so much weight.

Sent off at just 9-2 on debut at Newbury (soft), when he ran well after being outpaced to be an eventual 6L fifth. Should know more about the game now and with the champ up and his trainer 27% strike rate in this sphere, he can go close.

€15,000 buy last year. Full-brother to a placed bumper runner; half-brother to 2m1f-2m7f hurdle/chase winner Definite Ruby; out of unraced full-sister to a 2m hurdle winner. Stable 8% in this sphere, but market probably best guide.
Cost just £4,000 in August. Dam unplaced in bumpers/pulled up in 2m3f hurdle, half-sister to useful 6f-1m2f Flat and 2m hurdle winner Sheer Tenby. Stable 0-12 in bumpers this season and probably one to watch.

€3,800 yearling who sold for £21,000 at three. Half-brother to 3m hurdle winner and 2m3f chase winner, out of an unraced half-sister to bumper/2m4f-3m2f hurdle/chase winner and 2m4f-2m7f hurdle winner. Stable 2-24 this season in these. Market check.

Dam a French 2m1f-2m3f hurdle/chase winning half-sister to 3m-4m (dual Scottish National) winner Merigo and a French 2m3f-2m6f chase winner. Lovely pedigree and stable 1-3 in bumpers this season, so another to check in market.

Forecasts

Good Boy Bobby (1/2), Up To No Good (7/2), Big Bad Dog (12/1), Tiger Time (18/1), Manon (20/1), Lough Legend (66/1)

Verdict

An interesting contest where the proven dual winner Good Boy Bobby tires to concede lumps of weight all around. While that may not be beyond him, Warren Greatrex has a good record in this discipline and in receipt of 10lb his UP TO NO GOOD may be capable of winning, with his Newbury experience taken as a positive going into this. Manon and Tiger Time both have interesting pedigrees and a big run from either would not surprise.
  1. Up To No Good
  2. Good Boy Bobby
  3. Manon
