Has run some fair races in better events than this recently, including when third in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse last time out, but needs to capitalise on the drop in class here.
No win since at Aintree Listed race in April 2016, and some way off his best in recent starts at the advanced age of 13. Likely to be outdone by younger rivals here.
Classy individual who won the Troytown Chase two starts back before finding the Irish Gold Cup (Grade 1) too deep at Leopardstown last time out. This is a much easier level and he may well be able to add to his winning tally.
Fair third to Mala Beach at Gowran in the Troytown, but pulled up on two starts since and is left with something to prove now.
Forecasts
Mala Beach (4/9), Bonny Kate (7/2), Val De Ferbet (7/1), Maggio (20/1)
All things being equal this should go to Gordon Elliott's Troytown winner MALA BEACH. Outclassed in the Irish Gold Cup last year this is a much easier level of competition and a trip which should suit him well. Val De Ferbet and Bonny Kate, in that order, could be the ones to complete the tricast.
