Cost a small fortune as a foal but sold on cheaply. Already had a wind operation and wears a first-time tongue-tie for debut. Yard in good form of late but they don't have a great record in bumpers and he's opposable here.

Fine effort on debut when unsupported in the market here but too keen at Sedgefield last time out. Can be forgiven that and experience will hold him in good stead here but probably needs a little more to be involved for win purposes.
Half-brother to a bumper winner who stayed further. Cost €17,000 at the sales last year and one to watch in the market but yard's record in bumpers not particularly encouraging.

Beneficial gelding who is well related to the likes of Eastlake, Salsify and Cooldine. Fair efforts in bumpers in Ireland and intereting £26,000 recruit for a new yard now. Likely to go well with more experience than some.

Half-brother to the useful Irish pair Casual and Rich Coast. Looked a tricky ride on second start at Market Rasen and likely to need more time. Wears a first-time hood and tongue-tie.

Cost €40,000 as a three-year-old and remains a maiden in Irish point-to-points having had five outings (fell in latest of those). Fair effort in an Ayr bumper in January and has had wind operation since. Interesting runner for top connections.

14/1
Unraced second foal by Mount Nelson out of the 1m2f winning dam Rose Street. Well beaten in jumpers bumper at Newcastle last time when tailed off and likely to need more time.
Dam a fair winner over this trip over both hurdles and fences and a half-sister to Group 2 winner Clever Cookie. Yard not had a bumper winner in some time though and may be best watched on debut.

Cost 90,000 gns as a foal, sold for just £11,000. Dam a full-sister to 1m juvenile Group 1 winner/Leger second Armiger. Better effort at Catterick when third of 10 on second start but yard not had a bumper winner for over five years.

Poet's Voice gelding who has a fair pedigree (half-brother to Sir Chauvelin), though generally more geared towards the Flat. Green on debut and while there was a little more encouragement on second start, others are preferred.

50/1
Millkom mare who is a sister to the bumper/2m-2m4f hurdle winner Ten Trees, and a half-sister to the useful Turbo Island. Given plenty of time off since a very tame debut at Hexham in August.

Forecasts

Leostar (3/1), Sporting Press (4/1), Colby (4/1), Macardle (7/1), Haafaprincess (8/1), Scots Sonnet (10/1), Amaranth (10/1), Strathy (14/1), Dippin And Diving (25/1), New Granada (33/1), Sodoi (50/1)

Verdict

MACARDLE is an interesting recruit for his new yard and he's a tentative selection in a wide open finale. Colby was too keen last time out but has shown ability while Sporting Press is an interesting runner having had a wind operation since a promising debut.
  1. Macardle
  2. Colby
  3. Sporting Press
