Has plenty of placed C&D form on heavy ground, with the pick of those efforts being when beaten ¾L by The Dubai Way in November. Joined on the line by Jaunty Flyer when dead-heating at Catterick (2m3f) on his penultimate start.

Made a winning hurdles debut over C&D in November (heavy), and has added to those gains since at Catterick in January (soft), beating Turning Gold by 1L. Beaten just a nose in the Victor Ludorum latest, and that sets the benchmark.
Gelded son of Youmzain, with plenty of experience on the Flat in Poland (2 from 15). Stable also saddles the well fancied Cornerstone Lad, so likely to be much wiser for this initial hurdles start.

With Amanda Perrett on the Flat, but poor on all three hurdles starts for this trainer, including when pulled up at Doncaster last month (2m good to soft) following a 26-month absence.

16/1
An 18-race maiden, but slowly finding his feet at a lowly level (handicaps), and has been beaten by Instingtive in each of his last two starts. Should find a small race, but has plenty to do today on these terms.

Forecasts

Cornerstone Lad (2/5), Teescomponents Lad (3/1), Excalibur (12/1), Pc Dixon (16/1), Fighting Back (66/1)

Verdict

The maiden Pc Dixon is in decent shape at present, but he faces an almost impossible task at these weights with both Teescomponents Lad and CORNERSTONE LAD. That duo have previous C&D heavy ground experience, with the selection a winner on hurdling debut in November. He's improved rapidly since then, and this represents a sharp drop in grade from the Class 2 Victor Ludorum Juvenile at Haydock last month (beaten a nose).
  1. Cornerstone Lad
  2. Teescomponents Lad
  3. Pc Dixon
