Bolted up at Market Rasen on Sunday and turns out quickly under a 7lb penalty. Scored over C&D in December off 16lb lower mark. Handles underfoot conditions and looks set to run another big race.
Runner-up at Southwell and Chepstow last month over this trip on similar ground and should again make his presence felt. Trainer 0-10 though at this track will be hoping for better luck this time.
Last win came at Sedgefield over 3m2f and drop back to minimum trip for this out of form veteran looks unlikely to play to his strengths. Hard to see him making his presence felt.
Finally got off the mark at the 22nd time of asking when scoring over C&D beating Roxyfet. Is 6lb better off at the weights so has an obvious chance if able to reprise his winning performance.
Only win in 26 outings came over C&D in February 2017. Ran well over hurdles at Hexham in November but hasn't shone over hurdles or fences last two starts. Much more needed despite falling mark.
Popped up at Hexham last June scoring over 2m4f and best form on decent ground. Likely to find conditions against him here and drop back in trip not an obvious bonus either.
Having his 100th start here and runs for the 19th time at the track having registered one win so far here. No sign of form though in last five starts over fences and has his work cut out to make it a double celebration.
Forecasts
Frankie Ballou (7/4), Roxyfet (2/1), Little Jimmy (7/2), Chanceofa Lifetime (14/1), Bandol (14/1), Captain Sharpe (16/1), Notonebuttwo (25/1)
FRANKIE BALLOU is favoured by the weights having beaten Roxyfet last time they met and is now 6lb better off. If in the same form he has every chance of scoring again. In the meantime, Roxyfet has stormed home at Market Rasen and carries his penalty and will doubtless make a bold bid to turn the tables on his old rival. Little Jimmy has been knocking on the door of late and can also make his presence felt.
