Placed third in a valuable handicap contest at Navan (3m, heavy) 12 months ago but fell on his only subsequent outing and making his seasonal debut today.
Best effort over fences of late camewhen finishing fourth in a valuable C&D handicap on soft ground last month. Races off the same mark today and is one to note in this contest.
Had General Principle behind him when finishing third over C&D on soft ground last time out. Interesting to see if he can repeat that effort today.
Successful twice over fences early last year but disappointed on seasonal debut over hurdles in January. Races off a mark 21lb higher than for his most recent handicap success.
Failed to complete twice over fences prior to finishing 87L fifth of six at Thurles (soft) last timeout. Others make more appeal.
Justified odds-on favouritism when winning over 2m1f at Navan (soft-to-heavy) last time out. Had previously finished second at Cork and he is an interesting runner on handicap debut.
Putting in a bold show and held every chance when coming down at the last at Thurles on her penultimate outing. Stamina likely to blame for a disappointing effort last time and she is one for the shortlist today.
Running well in recent starts including when finishing fourth in a valuable handicap over 2m1f here last month and step up in trip should suit.
C&D winner on yielding-to-soft ground at teh end of December. Held over further since and return to this trip should see him in a better light.
Well beaten in three starts since finishing runner-up over hurdles at Navan in November. Races from out of the handicap today.
Forecasts
Spider Web (7/2), Blast Of Koeman (4/1), Drumconnor Lad (4/1), General Principle (5/1), Uncle Danny (7/1), Teacher's Pet (10/1), Jetstream Jack (14/1), Killaro Boy (25/1), Kylecrue (25/1), The Mooch (33/1)
TEACHER'S PET can spring a surprise in what looks an open handicap chase. The selection was in the process of running a good race when falling at Thurles on her penultimate outing and she can be forgiven a poor run over a trip that stretches her stamina subsequently. General Principle represents a leading stable and comes here on the back of a good effort over C&D last time while Killaro Boy can finish third on his return to chasing.
- Teacher's Pet
- General Principle
- Killaro Boy
