Irish import who has shaped well on both starts in three-runner novice chases at this track for his new stable. First time in a handicap, but warrants respect.
Irish raider whose only win in 11 starts over fences came at Kelso in December, 2016, but he ran respectably to be third of five off 1lb higher at Down Royal last time. Solid claims.
Showed a good attitude to win a three-runner novice chase at Kelso, but did not jump fluently before unseating when favourite in a Newcastle handicap on his latest outing. Runs off the same mark and is likely to be among the market leaders again.
Fair amount of promise in three novice chases, but returned to hurdles last time when second of four at this venue. Not out of it off this career-low mark
Won handicaps at this track and Kelso early last year, but has lost his way since and has been pulled up on his last two starts. Plenty to prove on recent evidence.
Landed a Kelso handicap off 3lb lower in October, but things have not gone his way since and he was pulled up over 3m at this course last time. Drop in trip may help, but he has to race from 2lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Bobbie's Diamond (15/8), Angus Milan (7/2), Acdc (7/2), Strong Economy (9/2), Havana Jack (12/1), The Orange Rogue (12/1), Mumgos Debut (33/1)
Bobbie's Diamond has been running in three-runner novice events and will find this tougher off top weight, but he is nevertheless respected along with Havana Jack at the opposite end of the handicap. Cases can be made for Strong Economy and Mumgos Debut, but the finish may be fought out by Acdc and ANGUS MILAN, with marginal preference for the Irish challenger after a good effort last time.
