Agonisingly for favourite backers was denied by just a nose at Kelso last month (2m7f+ heavy), when beaten by Sir Jack Yeats. Faces nothing of that obvious potential this afternoon, and clearly holds Killer Crow (third).

Left Kim Bailey for £32,000 in May 2017, and has been in decent form lately in point-to-points but without winning. Beaten 6L by Ivy Gate at Charing last month (3m good), and the blinkers are applied for the first time under rules.

A six time career winner who bolted up over hurdles at Exeter in early October for David Pipe (2m1f good). Lost his way steadily since, but registered a fair Hunters' Chase/stable debut third at Ffos Las latest (2m5f heavy).

Placed in a couple of point-to-points (Alnwick and Friars Haugh) since joining current connections from Gordon Elliott, but appears comfortably held by Cultram Abbey on rules form at Kelso last month.

Forecasts

Cultram Abbey (4/9), Jimmy The Jetplane (9/2), Killer Crow (7/1), Bambi Du Noyer (12/1)

Verdict

With Bambi Du Noyer talented on his day, but difficult to predict, and Jimmy The Jetplane racing only in point-to-points since leaving the care of Kim Bailey in May 2017, we'll stick with the more established locally trained veteran chaser CULTRAM ABBEY. Narrowly beaten on both of his starts this season up at Kelso, he'll not be undone for fitness, and should readily adapt to this slight drop back in trip, with all three of his rules career successes coming over 2m4f.
  1. Cultram Abbey
  2. Jimmy The Jetplane
  3. Bambi Du Noyer
