Arrived at Fakenham fit from two runner-up spots between the flags and duly obliged (3m, soft) last month, drawing clear to win by 25L. Had lost his way under rules prior to that, so now he is back he again has to be taken seriously.
Was 0-3 over fences for Kim Bailey in 2016/17, completing just once, but this 2m7½f heavy ground hurdle winner has come back to form between the flags for this trainer this season and beat former useful chaser Distime in his latest start. Respected.
In tremendous form in point-to-points of late, arriving here after completing a hat-trick at Lisronagh (Ire), Thorpe Lodge and Brocklesby Park (by 20L). Handles testing ground and enters calculations.
Trained/ridden by the man who rode the winner of this race in both 2015 and 2016 and therefore knows what is required. Justified odds-on favouritism to win a mixed open at nearby Duncombe Park last month and looks a contender.
Was racing from a mark of 118 under rules in Ireland last summer and has done better back in point-to-points since leaving Mouse Morris for this yard, and although his two wins have been in members' races he is entitled to claims.
His last win of any kind was over four years ago, although the positive was that it came on heavy ground. Beaten 8L in the members' point-to-point at Duncombe Park last time and that does not look good enough form to make an impact.
All six of his point-to-point wins have been on good/good to soft ground, so conditions here are a major concern. Couldn't rule him out in terms of ability if at his best, but his reappearance was none-too-encouraging and others are in better form.
Result Amended
Foxcub - Original Position 6th. Amended Position 7th.

Forecasts
Just Cause (9/4), Foxcub (5/2), Duhallow Tornado (4/1), Greensalt (7/1), Battle Dust (8/1), Shantou Prince (12/1), Saint Breiz (25/1)
Favourites have won three of the last four runnings of this contest and GREENSALT may also fit that bill after he justified support to win his recent point-to-point nicely. Foxcub is feared after running away with a similar race at Fakenham last time, while Duhallow Tornado, Just Cause and Battle Dust are all respected.
