Has a bit of Flat speed about him, as he showed when winning a couple of minor Irish events early in his career, should stay this trip fine and sire gets plenty of winners on the surface. Looks a player, despite yard form being moderate.

Looked to be going backwards when last seen but is a useful Flat performer at his best and has often gone well after a break. Can't be ruled out if he takes to this surface, but may find this trip stretching him a bit.

Moderate handicap hurdler, got his head in front at Kelso last October and not beaten far latest. Back off a short break here, in itself not an issue, but plenty to find on form and others are preferred.
Has looked hard to handle on last two starts and finished tailed right off (at 100-1) when tried on this surface in January. Cannot be entertained as the winner.

Hammersly Lake (4/5), Good Tradition (6/5), Newstart (5/4), Green Light (4/1), Hamelin Pool (66/1)

Verdict

The class act of this field is Hammersley Lake , who has proven to be a very high class chaser and has improved since joining Charlie Longsden. He'll be looking to have another crack at the American Grand National later in the year but has short term targets at Cheltenham and Aintree in the meantime. The worry here is whether this surface will suit, and given a liking for quicker on turf, it may pay to oppose him with GOOD TRADITION. The yard form is a slight concern but that's balanced by his sire, Pivotal, who gets plenty of winners on the Fibresand, which may level the playing field. Green Light looks best of the rest.
