Fairly useful over hurdles he scored his only victory (so far) in that sphere over 3m here on his handicap debut taking a marked step up in trip. Made an encouraging debut over fences (November 2015) before reverting to hurdles; two recent chasing runs have been reasonable (both off this mark) and should continue to run with credit.
Five-time chase winner who has a good record over fences here (411314) with his last win coming when finishing alone here in March. Ran well on his comeback over 3m here but has since been below form and turned in a temperamental and lacklustre display last time at Newcastle; one to be wary of now.
Useful chaser before having a long break (off 22 months) but returned with a good performance here over 2m4f having been given a chance by the handicapper. Only beaten by a progressive sort (Hills Of Dubai) on that occasion he allowed to run off the same mark (113) here stepped back up trip.
From a yard that continues with their quiet spell his two runs for this stable have coincided with that same period. Formerly with Emma Lavelle he's back down to his last winning mark (107) but continues to look out of sorts and now returns after a break; ran poorly when last seen.
Bounced back to form off a break over a marathon trip (3m7f) at Hexham in November in extremely testing conditions (Onedrun pulled-up) taking advantage of slipping to a very advantageous mark. Has run with credit the last twice although neither race looked to be enough of a test for him.
Started to look a little more consistent of late than he has been in the past but remains one that it's hard to rely on. Last three runs (two here over 3m) have been below par and he went with little zip last time out and continues to look a hard ride. Well below his last winning mark but hard to have much faith in.
Forecasts
Teddy Tee (9/4), Lowanbehold (3/1), Present Flight (7/2), Presented (7/1), Gold Opera (7/1), Onderun (14/1)
This should be a real test of stamina which should suit Lowandbehold whose best form this season was shown at Hexham in conditions that were very testing and his last two starts haven’t really tested that aspect of his game. TEDDY TEE is given the vote though in the same colours as his stablemate (Baywing) landed the Eider Chase at the weekend. He’s been fairly lightly raced over the past year or so but a repeat of either of his two recent chase efforts would be good enough to go close here. Present Flight ran well here last time out over a shorter trip and looks a danger if he can reproduce that run on his second start back from a long absence. The other three in the field all have their quirks and on current form are hard to rely on.
- Teddy Tee
- Lowanbehold
- Present Flight
