Struggled since placing twice in maiden hurdles on good-to-soft ground last year and well held in handicap company the last twice.
Successful twice in 2013 but disappointing since and plenty to prove having pulled up on his last two visits to the racecourse.
Good effort to finish third on heavy ground over 3m at Wetherby last month but struggled upped to 3m2f at Warwick on Friday. Return to this trip should suit.
Career best effort when finishing runner-up over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon (soft) on handicap debut last time out. Races off a 4lb higher mark today and is one for the shortlist stepping up in trip.
Followed up a chase win at Stratford (good-to-soft) by finishing runner-up over 2m4f on soft ground at Lingfield in November. Drops in grade and reverts to hurdles having taken a heavy fall at Cheltenham the following month.
Signs of ability in point-to-points but well held in three starts under rules and stepping up markedly in trip on handicap debut.
Held over hurdles so but open to improvement stepping up in trip on handicap debut and wears blinkers for the first time for a stable in good form (2/8) at present.
Placed in a point-to-point two years ago but struggled since going under rules and back over hurdles having pulled up in two of her last three chase starts.
Point-to-point winner on good ground in May 2015 and signs of ability in the third of three novice hurdles later that season. Making her handicap debut following a long absence.
Winner on good-to-soft ground over fences at Bangor in May and ran well to finish third here the following month. Disappointed on his most recent start but interesting back over hurdles having returned to Peter Bowen.
Best effort of late came when finishing 16L fourth on soft ground at Wetherby in December. Pulled up over fences since and this return to hurdles looks likely to suit with the cheekpieces reapplied.
Struggled on the Flat of late and making his first hurdles start since December 2015. Has won off much higher marks in the past.
Ran well in bumpers but struggled since switching to obstacles and well held in soft ground handicaps the last twice. Wears cheekpieces for the first time stepping up in trip.
Dual winner in 2016 but had just two starts since winning over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon (good) in October of that year. Probably best watched at present.
Dual winner over 3m3f but disappointing in four starts in 2017 and probably best watched on her return from a nine month absence today.
Forecasts
Abbey Street (7/2), Tara Mac (5/1), Alpha Indi (6/1), Asking Questions (8/1), Cruising Bye (10/1), Cranbrook Causeway (14/1), Houndscourt (16/1), Suffice (16/1), Janes Boutique (16/1), Agent Louise (25/1), Moorlands Mist (25/1), Spendajennie (25/1), Nicheinthemarket (25/1), K O Kenny (33/1), Medieval Bishop (50/1)
TARA MAC can put a heavy fall over fences last time out behind her by making a winning return to hurdles in this staying handicap contest. The selection was a winner twice over fences in 2017 and having run well off higher marks over hurdles in the past she can return to the winners enclosure today at the chief expense of Abbey Street who remains unexposed and can finish second on his first attempt at this trip. Bottom weight Frosty Dawn has yet to win but put in a career best effort when second last time out and can record another placed effort today.
- Tara Mac
- Abbey Street
