Looked very useful when justifying favouritism in a Class 3 bumper at Ayr in the spring. Off the track since, but should not lack for fitness and is highly regarded by his leading stable.
Flemensfirth gelding who won the last of his three point-to-points in Ireland before joining his current stable. Future probably lies over fences, but he is worth checking for any market support.
Gelding by Scorpion who made an impressive wining debut in an Irish point-to-point. Looks a nice prospect for top stable and it will be interesting to see if there is money for him.
Kayf Tara gelding who was sent off at 20-1 when third of nine on debut at Southwell. That form would not be good enough to give him a strong chance in this better race, but improvement is on the cards.
Son of Kayf Tara who made a solid debut when finishing a 9L second of seven on heavy ground at Ffos Las. Better ground ought to suit, but he faces a higher calibre of rival.
Promise on debut at Chepstow before disappointing when favourite at Ascot. Probably better than he showed on the latter occasion, but has plenty to prove for the time being.
By Malinas out of a Barathea Guest mare, he cost £16,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to bumper winner Glanvilles Guest. Stayed on well to finish second over 1m5½f at Huntingdon on debut so extra distance of this race should suit.
Presenting gelding who was bought for £50,000 as a three-year-old, he is a brother to a bumper winner and is from the family of high-class chaser Harbour Pilot. Plenty of appeal on paper for his top stable.
Jeremy gelding who fetched €25,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to winning hurdler Feel The Air. Makes his debut for good stable and is worth a check in the betting market.
Forecasts
Danny Kirwan (13/8), Pym (7/4), Brigade of Guards (9/1), Special Acceptance (12/1), Saturdaynightfever (12/1), Larkbarrow Lad (20/1), From The Heart (20/1), Potters Tale (28/1), Clondaw Ace (33/1)
Brigade Of Guards and Danny Kirwan look interesting newcomers to bumpers, but in PYM they face a rival with a tall reputation. The selection justified favouritism on his debut at Ayr last season and is presumably being kept to this discipline to maintain his novice hurdling status for next term. Of the others to have run, Special Acceptance and Larkbarrow Lad make most appeal.
- Pym
- Danny Kirwan
- Brigade of Guards
