Last year's winner and went on to score at Stratford but nowhere near that level so far this season and tough to build a case for in his current form.
Yet to score over fences but has some good form over the larger obstacles and goes on this ground; recent poor efforts came with the stable out of form and/or with excuses on his part and he could do better now.
Wouldn't want too much further rain but does have soft ground, and has slipped to a very appealing handicap mark with improvement since dropping back to 2m.
C&D winner who ran a nice race in second at Southwell last time out. On a similar mark, acts on the ground and this looks easier, so he holds leading claims.
Still beaten 10L when finishing second at Ludlow last time and has been on the go since August. Doesn't seem primed to find the improvement needed to go close here.
Likes it here and though he has been performing poorly elsewhere recently it's just possible the return to this course could inspire some improvement.
Smart when trained in France but hasn't finished within 10L of a winner so far in Britain and has had plenty of chances to run a genuinely promising race.
Arrives here in fair form having finished in the first three in his last four completed starts (though mostly in small fields). Possibly better over further but this handicap mark doesn't rule him out.
19 race maiden who has rarely gone close including at this level, but has had plenty of chances and difficult to see him getting off the mark here.
Forecasts
Jaunty Thor (3/1), Little Jimmy (7/2), Beallandendall (9/2), Finnegan's Garden (5/1), Auenwirbel (10/1), Third Act (10/1), Bonds Conquest (14/1), Modeligo (16/1), What's Up Rory (16/1)
Having gone close at Southwell recently LITTLE JIMMY looks set to run another big race here. A C&D winner at a track where course form has an impact, he has won soft ground in the past and is only 1lb higher than when filling the runner-up position last time. He is taken to return to winning ways at the expense of Third Act, who is better than he has shown so far this season and could be worth another chance, and another C&D winner in What's Up Rory.
- Little Jimmy
- Third Act
- What's Up Rory
