Not without ability in the Flat, winning three times at middle distances at Dundalk, but didn't show much on only hurdles start to date and may be one more for spring handicaps down the line.
Bumper winner at Killarney last August and turned in best effort to date over hurdles at Down Royal last time, showing heavy ground no problem. Repeat of that makes him one of the main players here.
Found a minor bumper at Hexham last June to get off the mark, only seen once since then when not disgraced in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown in December. Should do better but this is a hard task.
Has performed with some credit on both starts for this yard with two midfield finishes in decent events. Trip and ground no issue but needs this for a handicap mark, which is where his best chance may lie. Each-way claims all the same.
First run for powerful yard, €190,000 purchase at sales last year after winning in France. Bred for the job and from top yard, given maximum respect on stable debut here.
Plenty of his form gives him a solid e/w chance here but equally has thrown away many good opportunities to get on the scoresheet and isn't one for maximum faith. Latest poor effort takes the score to 0-14 and there are better win options.
Miler on the Flat, so may well have stamina issues with these conditions, and simply hasn't shown enough in two hurdles starts to make her of interest here.
Point to point winner in December but well down the field on debut at Naas earlier in the month and likely to need further before we see him at his best.
Has run to a consistent level on last five starts, over a variety of distances and ground, but usually finds a few too good and that's the likely scenario again here. Needs a bit of improvement from somewhere.
Well beaten at big prices on both hurdles starts and makes very little appeal. Others readily preferred.
Some promise to be taken form his staying-on third in a Kilbeggan 2m4f bumper last September but has shown little on either hurdles start. Can only be watched at present.
Has run well both starts and form of his fourth at Fairyhouse last time working out well (winner went in again, second and fifth both run well since). Needs this for a handicap mark but worthy of consideration if market speaks in his favour.
Showed little in his bumper but much better switched to hurdles at Naas last month, plugged on well after trying to make all. Needs a lot more here but lightly raced and another step forward may see him challenge for the places.
Midfield finished on all three starts so far and seemed to do no better for the application of a hood last time (missing here). Hard to fancy on what he's achieved so far, though may yet do better.
Has run to a similar level on all three starts so far but it's not good enough to challenge the principals here. Will be of more interest in handicaps.
Slight question mark over whether he really wants the ground deep, but improved on his previous form when finishing second at Catterick last time, travelling well. Place chances if repeating that but that isn't guaranteed.
Nicely enough bred and a half-brother to the yard's useful hurdler/chaser All The Chimneys, but like him, he's likely to need a bit of time. Best watched today.
Close fourth to Spades Are Trumps over C&D in November puts him in with place chances here, but took a backwards step at Limerick last time. Hard to know what to expect here, but chances if she can bounce back. Ground no issue.
Looked green and in need of the experience when well beaten on debut at Fairyhouse last month. IN good hands and will improve, but best watched here.
Has shown little in two starts to date although the fact that he was only a 7-2 chance for his debut at Newcastle in December suggests there could be some ability there.
Placed in point-to-points but didn't show anywhere near enough on debut at Naas earlier in the month to make her of interest here.
Forecasts
Defy De Mee (11/4), First Figaro (5/1), Frankiefiveangels (13/2), Call A Cab (7/1), Icario (7/1), State Of Nirvana (8/1), Scheu Time (10/1), Kerosin (10/1), Citing (14/1), Commander Won (16/1), Fred The Foot (20/1), El Rouli (20/1), Arch Stanton (33/1), Featherinyourcap (33/1), Quamino (33/1), Cepalo Delafayette (33/1), The Chapel Field (33/1), Bobby Jean (50/1), Offshore Oscar (50/1), Robin On The Hill (50/1), Moyvane (66/1)
The market will tell us what's expected from Defy De Mee on debut today and if given connections, it's not hard to see him running a big race. But FIRST FIGARO has some decent form to his name already and won't be a pushover if he can repeat his latest effort. Icario is frustrating but the ability is there if he can put it all together and can challenge for the places, along with Call A Cab.
