Midnight Legend gelding who cost €35,000 as a yearling and €55,000 at three. Beat only three rivals when winning on debut at Bangor, but looked good there and his penalty is offset by his claimer.
Successful on his debut at Southwell before finding the opposition too hot in a Listed contest at Ascot. In calmer waters this time and warrants respect.
Looked good when landing a Southwell bumper on debut and finished ahead of Hidden Glen when sixth at Ascot next time. Looks sure to be in the firing line in a much weaker race.
Came a cropper in his first two Irish point-to-points before winning the third of them. Cost new connections £67,000 and will be aiming to provide an early return on their outlay.
Phoenix Reach gelding whose dam was placed in a point-to-point. Stable in fine form, but he looks a long-term prospect and will probably need this debut run.
Getaway gelding who fetched €75,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to Grand National winner One For Arthur. Needed the run when not disgraced on debut at Uttoxeter and should do better this time.
Has shown signs of talent in point-to-points and bumpers. Looks a work in progress, however, and will probably do better when he goes hurdling.
Oscar gelding who cost €40,000 as a three-year-old and is from the family of the very useful Turpin Green. Second in an Irish point-to-point on his only start and is of obvious interest for connections who do well in this discipline.
Sixties Icon gelding who cost only £1,000 as a three-year-old and whose dam is an unraced half-sister to six winners. Cheap purchase price is offputting, but worth a market check nevertheless.
Forecasts
Two For Gold (9/4), Stop The World (5/2), Hidden Glen (7/2), Before Midnight (6/1), Darsi In The Park (14/1), No Getaway (20/1), Sammylou (20/1), Finalshot (40/1), Sixties Star (100/1)
Hidden Glen and Two For Gold set the standard after winning on their debuts before finding the opposition to hot in a Listed bumper at Ascot, while Darsi In The Park was quite an expensive purchase and is one to note in the betting. Before Midnight beat only three rivals on debut at Bangor but has to be feared give his top trainer's record in bumpers, but the selection is STOP THE WORLD, who looks a likely sort on paper and represents a stable which does well at this track with its runners in bumpers. No Getaway has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and should make a nice chaser one day.
