Showed some fair form on his chasing debut in a handicap at Huntingdon but has failed to build on those two runs (pulled-up both times). Now dropped 8lb from that initial effort and the tongue-tie left off this time around.
Won a couple of chases back in December 2015 the final one off this same mark but he's failed to win since. Cheekpieces now replace the blinkers he wore last time (lit up in those) and looks to retain some ability; difficult sort and hard to recommend here.
Mark continues to slide without looking like winning although he did run a respectable race last time out at Leicester to one who has been in good form. Dropped a further 2lb for that last run and not hard to see him winning soon off marks like this.
Below form in both his starts at Wincanton this year over hurdles and looks as though he is yet to fire this season. Only one previous start over fences (modest form) and more needed here on the basis of what he's shown so far.
Had a couple of years in the doldrums but is starting to look well handicapped now on his old form and was in the process of running well when falling last time out. Once again off the same mark here and a repeat of that performance would see him go close here.
Capitalised on a lower hurdles mark when winning here over 2m3f a couple of starts ago and still looks in good heart over fences. May well have needed the run last time out and looks to have a chance here (consistent sort) although this mark looks tough enough.
Fair form over fences winning two out of his last four starts and looks to have taken to chasing well. Held off this mark last time but shows plenty of resolution in races and looks a little more solid than some in this contest.
His form in France over hurdles would make him looks well handicapped here but he's failed to match that sort of level since joining this yard. Ran very poorly last time out and would need to show more to be worth siding with here.
Lightly-raced sort who has been in reasonable form over hurdles this season without winning (bit better than the result last time). Has made little impact over fences though and that causes some doubts about his chance here.
Only poor these days but returned to form on his penultimate start taking advantage of a career-low mark at Towcester. Not in the same form last time and runs from out of the handicap here but is 4/12 around here.
Forecasts
Jayo Time (10/3), Richardofdoccombe (5/1), Triple Chief (7/1), Canicallyouback (7/1), Bajardo (7/1), Lillington (8/1), Ckalco Des Loges (10/1), Auenwirbel (10/1), Ballyegan (12/1), Exmoor Mist (14/1)
Only a fairly-low grade affair but a competitive one with plenty having chances Canicallyouback is now getting down to a mark that he ought to be able to win off soon. Jayo Time is another who is off mark he should be able to win off and must have a chance if he can overcome a fall last time out. Triple Chief is a consistent sort although his mark is a little high and Richardofdoccombe could be well handicapped if he can take to fences. Ckalco Des Loges is falling in the handicap but does need to bounce back from two poor efforts and BAJARDO appeals as the most solid option after his two sound December runs and this mark doesn’t make this out of reach.
- Bajardo
- Canicallyouback
- Triple Chief
