Tomngerry³³

Age: 8| Weight: 0-0| J: B S Hughes| T: B Ellison| OR: 135

15/2

Returned from a lengthy layoff in good form when beaten under 1L here over a similar trip (soft) in November. Doesn't appear to have taken to chasing on his last two starts, but back over hurdles from 3lb higher, he should be competitive.

Form: 11P/2F4

Sakhee's City^p²⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 0-0| J: A Nicol| T: P A Kirby| OR: 132| D

4/1

Both wins have been at Catterick, including last time out (2m3½f, heavy) when scoring by 7L. Up a fair-looking 7lb for that, so likely to need another career-best to follow-up, but couldn't rule out further improvement.

Age: 6| Weight: 0-0| J: Craig Nichol| T: R Dobbin| OR: 130| C| D

11/4

Won here over 2m1f (soft) in November in novices' company and has kept on improving. Added his first handicap success at Doncaster (2m3½f, soft) last time. Front pair were 8L clear there and he is up 8lb today, but still has the potential for more.

Form: 2-17231

Lord Ballim^h⁴⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 0-0| J: C Gethings| T: N J Hawke| OR: 122| CD

25/1

Ran up a hat-trick here over hurdles/fences from February-April last year, including over C&D. 2lb higher than when scoring at Perth in April. Trip/ground no problem, but needs to get back on track now over hurdles for first time in 10 months.

Form: U1-60PP

Blottos²²

Age: 6| Weight: 0-0| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 122

6/5

Improving with every run so far this term, winning two of them at Sedgefield (2m1f/2m4f, both on soft). Now makes handicap debut from a mark that looks handy, based on his latest effort and another good performance looks on the cards.

Forecasts

Blottos (6/5), Slanelough (11/4), Sakhee's City (4/1), Tomngerry (15/2), Lord Ballim (25/1)

Slanelough is enjoying a good season and made further progress when scoring at Doncaster last time. He is entitled to plenty of respect from 8lb higher, but the suggestion is to side with another improver, the handicap debutant BLOTTOS, who may have got in a little under the radar. Tomngerry and Sakhee's City are both very much respected in opposition.
