Never on terms in the Grade 1 Classic Chase at Warwick last time out but this is a more realistic option for the gelding and he has to merit consideration in this company. The rider's claim helps off set the burden of top weight.
Not won since first tried with a tongue tie just over two years ago.Lightly raced since but plenty to prove after two poor efforts in recent starts.
Doughty stayer but has a poor record since his win in the Midlands National in 2016. Hard to fancy on recent form.
Comfortable win last time out but more to do under a 6lb higher mark. Need to have his mind made up for him in the closing stages during that win but feasible he's capable of handling the rise. Place claims at least.
Not won since November 2015 and recent form does little to suggest he's in the right frame of mind to take advantage of his plunging handicap mark. Others make more appeal. (Yard did with this in 2015, so support in the betting could be noteworthy)
Trip and ground to suit and is better than she showed last time when her stamina ebbed over a longer trip. This should be more to her liking and the mare is well worth a check in the betting at this level.
Interesting recruit form France and, given his illustrious connections, he has to merit a check in the betting. Noteworthy he's tried in headgear on his first start for a powerful yard even though this appears to be a fact finding mission.
Unexposed over fences and comes here on the back of a sound effort on handicap debut last time. Room for improvement in his jumping though and need to conclusively prove he's got the stamina for the trip.
Not many miles on the clock in recent time and has to be of interest with condition in her favour. Lacks consistency, though, which casts doubt on the merits of a win only play.
Previous course winner that has to be respected on the best of her chase form. Poor effort over hurdles latest needs to be forgiven but the mare is a tough enough character to make the shortlist in this company.
Holding his form well in modest company of late but this is a bit tougher than some of his recent outings, so possible others will take his measure early.

Krackatoa King (4/1), Streets Of Promise (5/1), Looksnowtlikebrian (5/1), Big Meadow (13/2), Jennys Surprise (7/1), Little Jon (7/1), Behind Time (8/1), Domingo (10/1), Misty Mai (11/1), Mystical Knight (11/1), Lac Sacre (12/1), Alf 'n' Dor (12/1), Firebird Flyer (20/1)
A tough one to call but LOOKSNOWLIKEBRIAN has room to maneuver over fences fences from his current mark and edges a narrow vote of confidence ahead of Big Meadow, who won well last time out and has to be feared despite the fact her idled in the closing stages over a slightly shorter trip on that occasion. Krackatoa King and Jennys Surprise are others with place claims and complete the shortlist.
