Good runs at Cheltenham and Chepstow before finishing down the field in a hot contest at Leopardstown where he raced prominently for a long way. Looks vulnerable off current mark, but first-time blinkers may help.
Made all to win over C&D, but went up 12lb and was pulled up in a better race at Sandown last time. Plenty to prove off the same handicap mark, but return to this venue and a softer surface should suit.
Looked progressive when winning a handicap at Fontwell and was taking on some good novices when coming a cropper at the last at Cheltenham on his latest outing. May have finished third that day, which would give him claims back in handicap company,
Better known as a chaser in recent seasons, but is a useful handicap hurdler on his day and has a C&D success on his CV. Trip and ground no problem and return to hurdling may lift his spirits.
Mixes hurdling and chasing and has not won for over a year. That said, his third to a subsequent Grade 1 winner over C&D in November reads well and he would have every chance if able to replicate that performance off the same mark.
Failed to win over hurdles as a novice last season, but ran some fine races in good company. Winner of his last two starts, the latter by 20L, and may have got in lightly on his handicap debut.
Rattled up a hat-trick of wins under this jockey at the back end of last year and duly shot up to a mark off which he has struggled on his last two starts. Down 1lb, but looks held by the handicapper.
C&D winner who finished well behind Top Ville Ben in December. Has reached the veteran stage and makes only limited appeal in a competitive handicap.
Made it four wins from eight starts over hurdles when scoring at Warwick. Has gone up 6lb, but is a likable sort who may be capable of even better. Acts on heavy ground.
Won a Ffos Las maiden hurdle before landing a Wetherby novice event in good style. Has sound each-way claims in his first handicap, having already proven himself on heavy ground.
French import whose only run for this stable saw him finish a distant third of four in a graduation chase at Market Rasen. Switch to hurdles may suit, but this looks to be a fact-finding mission for connections.
Forecasts
Noble Robin (3/1), Black Ivory (10/3), Tommy Rapper (5/1), Theo's Charm (8/1), Top Ville Ben (8/1), Arthur's Gift (12/1), De Rasher Counter (12/1), Shantou Bob (16/1), Splash of Ginge (16/1), Isaacstown Lad (20/1), Bialco (66/1)
Theo's Charm's third behind a subsequent Grade 1 winner over C&D reads particularly well and he would have every chance if in the same form. However, there are four progressive horses in opposition in the shape of De Rasher Counter, Black Ivory, Noble Robin and TOMMY RAPPER and the latter, who has come good recently after showing plenty of promise last season, looks marginally the best option. Splash Of Ginge has been known to pop up at big prices and is not out of it.
- Tommy Rapper
- Black Ivory
- De Rasher Counter
