Winner of two of his three hurdling starts, although he did have his limitations exposed when third at Wetherby over Christmas. May find one of two of these rivals too classy.

On the upgrade, winning on his last two starts at Plumpton and Fontwell. This is his biggest test so far, but his trainer has plenty of strength in the juvenile department and will know where he stands with this one.

4/1
Plenty of promise when second on debut at Sandown before going one better in good style at Warwick. Stable strong in this sphere so he warrants respect given his ability to handle deep ground.

Won on her hurdling debut at Ludlow and seemed to improve on that display when scoring in clear-cut style at Wetherby. More needed if she is to complete her hat-trick, but has to enter calculations.

9/2
Lightly-raced winner on the Flat who made an encouraging start to his hurdling career when chasing home Mister Chow at Warwick. Gets a 5lb pull for a 3¼L beating and should be wiser this time.
Had Cornerstone Lad behind when runner-up on debut at Wetherby, but that one turned the tables on him at Catterick next time. Well held at Doncaster on his latest outing and looks up against it in this better race.

Forecasts

Lisp (15/8), Mister Chow (4/1), Swaffham Bulbeck (9/2), Turning Gold (6/1), Shambra (6/1), Cornerstone Lad (10/1)

Verdict

Cornerstone Lad and Turning Gold are 1-1 in their races so far and both face stiff tasks against this opposition. Mister Chow and Swaffham Bulbeck are closely matched on Warwick form and are respected, but the two who make most appeal are Lisp and SHAMBRA. The former hails from a yard with plenty of juvenile strength, but the selection seems equally progressive and the 7lb she receives could prove decisive.
  1. Shambra
  2. Lisp
  3. Mister Chow
