Unbeaten in two runs here and not unduly punished for his latest success. That came in a slowly run race in which he pulled hard and as a result he was sent on earlier than planned. The extra half-mile for this will demand he settles better.

Not seen since taking a heavy fall over fences on Boxing Day. Runner-up over C&D on last Flat start in November 2016 and trainer 5-16 with his older brigade on the AW this year. One to note with a jockey booking that catches the eye.

Unexposed and looked very leniently treated when winning off a mark of 48 on soft ground last summer. Not as good off her revised marks since and a market check is advised on debut for her new yard.

Proved weak in the market and lacked the pace to mount a challenge when fourth here last time. That was his first Flat run for two years and questionable again whether this staying chaser will be quick enough.

Third over C&D last time when caught for speed when the pace quickened 3f out in a slowly run race. May have a small race in him and no surprise if this was his day given a more truly run contest.

Four-time winner who has recently stepped up to this trip. Got stuck wide here last time and now 3lb below her last winning mark from March 2017.

Last of 13 two weeks ago over 1m2f but better at Kempton prior to that over this trip. That was a weak race and his overall profile shows a decline in his fortunes.

Shown nothing in four starts on the Flat and over Jumps since joining current yard in August. Worth avoiding until showing a little of the spark that brought two victories in the past.

Three of his five victories have come here including two on this surface. However poor when last seen back in 2013 and hard to be enthusiastic about his prospects.

Switched to the flat from bumpers but tailed off in three starts on the AW and a hood is tried this time.

Bred to stay with his dam winning up to 2m2f so worth a go at this trip. Forced to race wide on handicap debut last time and one of the few in this with scope to improve.

Forecasts

Master Burbidge (5/4), Sheila's Fancy (4/1), Oregon Gift (5/1), Quay Point (7/1), Tommys Geal (8/1), Running Wolf (14/1), Crindle Carr (20/1), Clearance (25/1), I Should Coco (33/1), Dew Reward (66/1), Zarliman (100/1)

Verdict

MASTER BURBIDGE is a 122 rated hurdler/chaser and he has proved competitive on the Flat from this kind of mark in the past. The yard have had a good winter with their older AW performers and this does not look a hard race to win. Oregon Gift won here last time but refused to settle last time and that is a concern stepping up to 2m, whilst Sheila's Fancy was not disgraced on his first try at this trip and a more even pace could yield further improvement. Tommy's Geal is a reliable performer who is weighted to go close if getting more luck in running than was the case last time.
  1. Master Burbidge
  2. Sheila's Fancy
  3. Tommys Geal
