Made a promising debut at Newmarket before winning his next two starts, including at this track. Steps up in trip, is clearly on the upgrade and has every chance.

Distinct signs of ability on both starts as a juvenile and duly confirmed that impression when bolting up in a C&D maiden last month. More to do in this contest, but has to go on the short list with further improvement likely.

5/1
Second in four of his five starts for Roger Varian, he has been purchased by a new stable for whom he makes his debut. Has ability, but needs to take a step forward to cope with a couple of his rivals.
Only limited promise in starts at Newmarket and Wolverhampton. Qualifies for a handicap mark after this and should be more competitive in that sphere.

Footstepsinthesand gelding who was picked up for 6,000 gns as a juvenile and is from a winning family from 6f to 1m. Last of six over C&D on debut and is hard to make any sort of case for on that evidence.

Finisher149
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: K Stott| T: K A Ryan
10/1
$385,000 yearling by Street Cry who has a good dirt pedigree. Gelded since finishing eighth of 13 on debut at Newcastle and is one to keep an eye on in the market for in-form stable.

Stepped up on pleasing debut when fourth of 12, both races over 1m at Kempton. Breeding suggests this longer trip will suit and stable is going well.

Norse Dancer gelding out of a Hawk Wing mare. Likely to need this debut run, but is worth a check in the betting market.

Forecasts

Beautiful Memory (7/4), Legal History (7/2), Sir Hamilton (4/1), Ambient (5/1), Finisher (10/1), Bond Street Beau (16/1), Nordic Flight (20/1), Charles Vane (66/1)

Verdict

Legal History has already snown more than enough to suggest he can win races for a stable enjoying a good spell, but he may have to wait his turn given the presence of the progressive Sir Hamilton and BEAUTIFUL MEMORY. The latter, who bolted up over C&D on his reappearance, looks useful and can just get the better of a talented rival. Ambient looks best of the rest and Finisher is worth keeping an eye on.
  1. Beautiful Memory
  2. Sir Hamilton
  3. Legal History
