Sole success was at Sedgefield (3m2½f, good) in April, which came from a 4lb lower mark/in cheekpieces. That was easily his best chasing effort. May strip fitter for reappearance and do better on less testing ground. Not ruled out after 5lb drop.

Came good again at Catterick (3m1f, heavy) last time, when getting the better of a three-way finish by a neck. Up 4lb for that, so will need to find the form of his novice chasing days if he is to follow-up, but should be in the mix.

Got off the mark at the 17th attempt here over C&D (soft) last time. Up 7lb for that, though front pair were 14L clear. Will probably need a career-best to follow-up, but entitled to consideration based on last two runs.

It is over two years since he won his only chase over 2m5½f (heavy) at Ayr, when 5lb higher. Bettered that twice in the autumn and again not far from that form at Fakenham last time. Conditions fine for him and has claims.

Was off the track from September 2016 until last month, when he came back at Sedgefield (2m3½f, soft) and was beaten 17½L. Stamina a concern, but best form would give him a shout from this mark, so check market for confidence in a revival.

Has four hurdle wins split equally between Cartmel and Sedgefield, one of which came on good to soft (all others on good). Stays 3m3f. Yet to prove anything like as effective over fences and not easy to fancy despite handy mark.

0-14 under rules and has picked up just one point-to-point from 25 attempts. Form has been dismal for the best part of a year and impossible to make a case for her from 17lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Misfits (7/4), So Satisfied (9/4), Achill Road Boy (5/1), Mahler Lad (8/1), Dun Faw Good (8/1), Nicki's Nipper (25/1), Nelly La Rue (100/1)

Verdict

With the Lucinda Russell team going quite well and MISFITS having finally found the winning thread, he may be capable of defying a 7lb rise and adding another success. He does at least arrive in good form and conditions should not be a problem. Mahler Lad would have claims if he could repeat his winning effort from Sedgefield in April, though that was a conspicuous peak in some otherwise modest form. So Satisfied cannot be ruled out along with Achill Road Boy, who looks a potential danger if he sees this out. Dun Faw Good is probably worth a check in the market.
