Well held on AW at Newcastle in November over 1m4½f in maiden company. Previously unable to land a blow in handicap hurdles at Bangor and Uttoxeter over this sort of trip and may need more than the 4lb relief he's been given.
May have beaten better-fancied stablemate Bisoubisou last month at Fakenham (2m4f, heavy) on debut for this trainer but for mistake at the last (finished ½L second). Solid claims with cheekpieces added from 3lb higher mark.
Veteran was in super form in the spring, at one stage winning three from four starts, latest off 103 over 2m1f (good) at Exeter in April. Not as good lately but slipped 9lb below previous winning mark, so dangerous to discount.
Without a win since March 2016 and plummeting down the weights as a result, has run well enough in three starts this month at Catterick and Haydock without screaming of an impending win from this mark, but not crossed off too readily.
Placed in a couple of Irish point-to-points, but yet to threaten in any of his five starts under rules from 2m-2m5f, four of them over timber. Triple figure odds lately and hard to make any sort of case for.
Well beaten in bumper/novice hurdles but improved showing on handicap bow at Uttoxeter (2m, heavy) on New Year's Eve (beaten 8½L into fourth of nine). Dropped 2lb and could build on that run.
Winless in 16 starts under rules and become a bit inconsistent. Useful effort at Market Rasen in November when 2¾L second of 11, then trailed home last of eight at following month at Sedgefield. Given a break since. Depends which version shows up.
A 36-race maiden with a penchant for finishing tamely. Returns from 228-day absence and not hard to overlook again.
Forecasts
Flow With Eve (1/1), Hartside (4/1), Chatelier (7/1), Teescomponents Max (10/1), Taken By Force (12/1), Thundering Home (14/1), Deshan (14/1), First Of Never (25/1)
FLOW WITH EVE was a typical improver on first start for Olly Murphy at Fakenham last month and may well have got the better of her better supported stablemate bar a poor jump at the last. She drops in trip here and has cheekpieces fitted for the first time. Raised just 3lb on that run, she looks the one to beat with her in-form claiming rider essentially giving her an advantage on these terms. Thundering Home has dropped to a very workable mark but must bounce back from some tame efforts. Hartside meanwhile has been running steady enough races and should get involved, though may need the selection to misfire. Chatelier produced an improved effort at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve and is eased 2lb in this attempt to build on it.
- Flow With Eve
- Chatelier
- Hartside
