Just the one good effort from three last season when a staying-on fourth at Southwell (winner a useful sort) but didn't beat a horse home on other two starts. This trip probably short enough and best watched after a short break.
Has run to a similar level on her last four starts, although it would be stretching a point to say she's improving. This draw probably not ideal for one that likes to come from off the pace either, but place chances all the same.
Went close at Chepstow last September and seemed to enjoy the switch to this surface when sticking nicely to the task over C&D to finish a big-priced third last time. Wouldn't need much more to be a big player here, but draw to overcome.
For has got progressively worse over the last five months, to the point where he's not some 14lb lower, but showing next to nothing at present and despite the visor going back on, he's already run poorly in it and it may not be much help.
Finished a decent fourth at Kempton last November (not beaten far) but that run stands out like a beacon among some moderate efforts. First run for new yard tonight and clearly has some ability, but hard to know what to expect.
Didn't show much in his first three runs but a bit better on handicap debut at Lingfield, and may have done better but for being stuck on the rail. Should improve and from a decent draw to work from, could get involved.
Hasn't shown a lot in five starts so far, and although not beaten that far at Newcastle last time, that was over 5f and in lower grade. May improve a little but in truth needs to, and others make a bit more appeal.
Had six starts to date, and although she has run moderately in five of them, the straw to cling to is that on the sixth, she was beaten under a length over 5f here. Risky, but return to this venue might spark some improvement, and not discounted.
Has barely beaten a horse home in three starts but related to some speedy sorts and ought to be capable of better. Gelded since last seen, which could help, and yard know the time of day. Worth a market check despite those poor form figures.
Forecasts
G Eye Joe (11/8), Jan's Joy (4/1), Brockey Rise (6/1), Spring Romance (9/1), Madame Jo Jo (9/1), Sitsi (12/1), Salty Sugar (14/1), Rusty Blade (16/1), Storm Doris (20/1)
None of these come into this holding rock-solid claims, and on that, a chance is taken on STORM DORIS bouncing back to form at a track where she turned in her best effort to date. There's not much pace on here either, and she may be able to get her own way up front. Rusty Blade ran a little better than the form figures suggested last time and could be the danger. Spring Romance has some dreadful looking form figures but a market move for him could be significant.
