Won a claimer over C&D in November and has twice scored at Southwell since in a 6f handicap off 76 and more recently a 5f seller. Claimed for £7,000 after latest second at Lingfield and should not be too far away back in a handicap on stable debut.
Landed his only AW handicap so far here over C&D in December. Was very competitive after a 4lb rise to this mark when beaten just over 1L at Kempton last time and looks one of the leading contenders again this time.
Won over C&D in 2015 and has added five more at Lingfield and Kempton, the last two in selling/claiming company. Held from this mark at Kempton last time and others make more appeal.
Recorded his best AW effort over C&D in May when a 1L second from a mark of 75. Won over the trip at Wolverhampton two starts ago (6f) and ran out of gas over 7f last time. Interesting now back at this trip and on competitive mark.
Largely consistent during the winter so far and came good again at Newcastle (6f) on the Tapeta last time. Escapes a penalty for the apprentice race success and is short-listed for the follow up, though has to prove he acts as well here.
Effective from 5f-1m and won over the minimum trip at Lingfield in novices' company last month. Acts around here and although comfortably held from this mark in a 5f handicap last time, could do better today over further.
Forecasts
Excellent George (2/1), Captain Lars (2/1), Duke Cosimo (10/3), Tavener (8/1), Bernie's Boy (14/1), Dutiful Son (14/1)
Duke Cosimo is likely to be popular after escaping a penalty for winning last time and if he acts as well around here then he can again go close. However, preference is for CAPTAIN LARA, who debuts for Archie Watson in first-time blinkers, already has a C&D win to his name and should be very competitive back in handicap company. Excellent George and Tavener are both respected in opposition.
