Irish point-to-point winner on debut. Ran well on stable/rules introduction at Exeter (2m2½f, heavy) last month. Stayed on well there and this longer trip will suit. Should again be competitive.
Won a Bangor bumper (good) on debut in 2015 and improved on that next time on heavy at Uttoxeter. Was off for over a year before a disappointing comeback at Carlisle last season. Now has another 12-month layoff to put behind him. Best watched.
Wide margin point-to-point winner last spring (soft) and has shown a decent level of ability in two hurdles for this trainer so far, the latter over a similar trip. Trainer looks to have found him an opportunity to break his rules duck.
Won a Sedgefield bumper (soft) on debut in March 2016. Spent a year off after her hurdles debut and is being brought back patiently. Can take another step in the right direction here, though needs significant improvement to win.
Forecasts
Robin Waters (4/9), Coningsby (9/4), Only Orvieto (20/1), Loch Garman Aris (80/1)
Dan Skelton looks to have found an opening for ROBIN WATERS to break his maiden tag under rules in a race that has cut up. The five-year-old has run well in both starts over hurdles and if he can maintain or improve on that he should prove tough to beat. Coningsby is not dismissed lightly, especially over this longer trip and he should be the danger to the selection. Only Orvieto should be the one to chase them home.
- Robin Waters
- Coningsby
- Only Orvieto
