French import is two from three over fences for Paul Nicholls, creating a good impression when readily accounting for Shantou Rock in Grade 2 Wayward Lad Novices' Chase (2m, soft) last time. Improving sort, sure to handle the ground, trip unknown.

Useful hurdler, destined to be a better chaser. Two wins from three this season over fences, latest when readily conceding 5lb to pair of useful rivals at Cheltenham (2m5f, soft) in December. Much respected once again.

Promising novice hurdler last season, notching hat-trick of winner successes before ultimately coming up short at the major spring festivals. Back from a break for first chase start, will have to go some to come out best against experienced rivals.

Two wins from four this season, both coming over this sort of trip at Ffos Las and Exeter on soft. Again appeared to have stamina stretched in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase (3m, soft) on Boxing Day. Yard in better form now and this trip suits..

French import made strong impression on debut for champion trainer when coasting clear to win Novices' Limited Handicap at Huntingdon (2m4f, soft) last month. Full of potential but surely will be asked a tougher question this time.

Forecasts

Terrefort (15/8), Cyrname (9/4), Kalondra (9/2), West Approach (6/1), No Comment (8/1)

Verdict

Terrefort commands serious respect having effortlessly won on his British debut at Huntingdon last month. He could be very useful and connections are well versed in collecting this prize - Nicky Henderson is after a sixth win since 2010, while owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede have accounted for the previous three victors. Despite that, the performance of CYRNAME in winning the Wayward Lad Novices' Chase at Kempton was quite taking. He looks a smart prospect for the Nicholls team and may take some stopping going up in trip. Kalondra gave weight and a beating to a decent duo last time and shouldn't be dismissed too quickly while West Approach will appreciate this drop in trip and his yard are in much better fettle than when last spotted.
